The History of Politics, Simplified

Over the past few years, it has become clear that all is not well in the body politic. Reducing turnouts at General and By-Elections signifies a loss of confidence in politicians of all colours. However away from party politics the European Referendum led to one of the largest voter interest and turnout. Blue Revolution believes that this high turnout at the referendum illustrated voter dissatisfaction with politicians both at home and in the European Parliament. Added to this was a reaction to the feeling of helplessness at not being in control of decisions made by unelected Commissioners in Europe.

Since then, confusion and a lack of democratic leadership has revealed itself in the debates surrounding the EU withdrawal plans. This leads Blue Revolution to believe change is essential. Parliament no longer carries out the wishes of the electorate and to go by recent experience, our system of Government is in need of overhauling.

In this booklet Blue Revolution looks briefly at the journey political thought has taken. It provides a platform and a way forward for people to take control of politics in a democratic way, which challenges our outdated political system.

This slim volume is offered by Blue Revolution as a contribution to that process and offers a new way of thinking about Government in the 21st Century.
