Who was the solitary man walking his dog most nights, from midnight til dawn, in all weathers? Where did he go? Why did he limp? How did his big, ugly dog get his injuries? And why hide himself inside the enveloping hoodie and baggy clothes? He was a recluse, living alone at the top of the small apartment block. Never receiving visitors, never going out during the day, and avoiding his neighbours if he could. However, one curious neighbour down on the first floor was fascinated by the mysterious dog walker, occasionally bumping into the monosyllabic man in the late evening when she took her own little dog out. Where he went, what he did in the midnight hours and what he looked like, was becoming an obsession. Then, as dawn broke one early morning, Carrie was gazing out of her window and spotted him returning home. She caught a glimpse of the lower half of his face beneath the hoodie... and she was transfixed. This was no deformed or disfigured man, the tantalising smile he gave his dog as he petted it simply stole her breath away and her curiosity spiked even further.
Meanwhile, Carrie had a more pressing problem. A stalker. She was convinced she was being followed and someone was getting into her apartment when she wasn't there. She couldn't prove it, it was just her intuition, but she was absolutely sure. So who was it and why her? She was a nobody, nothing special. Was it someone she knew, an old boyfriend, or a stranger? It made her wonder if perhaps her mysterious neighbour was doing more than just walking his dog at night...
