This publication is a scanned reproduction of the John G O'Leary’s Danger Over Dagenham book originally published in 1947. Barking and Dagenham currently has two books of remembrance which list all those who died during World War Two, however little has been done to keep our official memorials up to date since 1945. We would like to rectify this by producing a third book with the names of all the men and women from Barking and Dagenham who have died on active service, serving their country, from World War Two onwards.
All money raised from this publication will go to this project.
This book is described as a bare record of fact, of work achieved under conditions never before experienced in the history of the world. It is the story of men and women of Dagenham who, midst all these new stresses and strains, carried on with the business of everyday life - everyday war life .
