The Gentle Goat follows the intertwining stories of a small group of friends living in a village trying to keep its traditional character, despite being only two miles away from the spreading outer suburbs of a large town. The hub of the village is The Gentle Goat, a lovely old pub where the characters meet to relax, grumble about their daily problems, do business and argue.
But the village and its way of life is threatened when a foreign enterprise makes a hostile bid to buy the Gentle Goat and turn it into a nasty motel. The loss of their pub seems inevitable until the locals band together to resist.
