An updated version of Catherine Siney’s The Pregnant Drug Addict (1995), this work explores the difficulties of managing the maternity care of those who are drug-dependent. Topics covered include medical problems of pregnant women who are drug-dependent; hepatitis B, pregnancy and the drug-user; HIV, pregnancy and the drug-user; the sexual health needs of female drug-users; outreach work with female sex workers in Liverpool; and drugs counselling and the pregnant addict.
