Ten children are profiled in the book, including Canadian Ryan Hreljac, who founded an organisation that builds wells in Africa, and Sam Levin from the USA, who is helping connect kids with their food through an organic school vegetable garden. Also included are William Kamkwamba from Malawi, who built a windmill from bicycle parts and brought electricity to his village, and animal rights activists Fang Ming-he from China and Janine Licare from Costa Rica.
