Having been stalked for almost twenty years by her high school lover, Clara Sverdlow is a recently sober alcoholic in her mid thirties who has found happiness in a tenuous marriage. Yet the past lurks over the couple, always encroaching on their conjugal bliss. Clara’s father was a political prisoner in Auschwitz and his guilt and horror form some of Clara’s psychological make-up. Husband Mark has his own demons too - a brother dead from a drug overdose. Together they must address the past if they are to cling to the fragile happiness they have found.
