Near twenty years ago Gene McCarthy wrote his first book about the going-on in Virginia’s Rappahannock County. He was green back then. But a few decades of discussions at the F.T. General Store have seasoned him to life where nothin’s as simple as it seems.
Finding merkles isn’t simple. On occasion Sen. McCarthy has found these tasty mushrooms in the wild. But just as often he’s begged for them. Any day now McCarthy might master his Lynch’s Fool Proof Turkey Call. So far he’s drawing mostly crows.
