An encyclopedic compilation of rishonim, incorporating the commentary of RaMaH on tractate Gittin. The RaMaH material is identified and supplemented by a special section culled from other sources in manuscript and in print. The entire work is accompanied by a duplicate set of explanatory notes updating the commentaries and halakhic decisions to later authorities, written by Rabbi Avraham Shoshana and indices.
Published for the first time from manuscripts and printed versions. With a lengthy introduction on the life and works of RaMaH, which was omitted from the latest edition (2002), and will be published independently.
Volume I includes an addendum of the discourses of Rabbi Mordecai Gifter ZT L on the first chapter of Tractate Gittin. Volume II includes two addenda: 1) Hilchot ha-Get Le-haRaMaH, published for the first time from Vatican MS 154, with references and commentary; 2) Previously unpublished part of RaMaH’s original commentary on Gittin found in the Cambridge Genizah.
