The late Eric Coates was a leading exponent of free-flight scale model aircraft, a successful competitor and a pathfinder in the development of greater scale accuracy. His series of articles in Aeromodeller magazine in the early 1970s is still highly regarded and relevant today. They offer advice on choice of prototype, construction, covering, finishing and detailing, plus trimming and flying - up to competition standard if required.
