An Order of Marriage: For Christians from Different Churches

When a man and a woman from different denominations fall in love and wish to marry, they present the Church with a powerful sign of the love of Christ which transcends human boundaries and, at the same time, a reminder of the painful divisions that exist between churches.

This marriage service is offered to the churches for the celebration of such marriages. Developed by the Joint Liturgical Group of Great Britain, this rite enables clergy and congregation from each denomination represented by the couple to participate in the service. An additional choice of blessing prayers and intercessions is provided, along with recommendations for the pastoral care of inter-church families.
