This companion work to Records of Kuwait presents an extensive collection of Arabic-language documents concerning the history and administration of Kuwait. The collection covers the half-century from the establishment of the Political Agency in Kuwait in 1904, to 1949 - the year after responsibility for policy in the Gulf was transferred from the India Office to the Foreign Office. Documents are selected primarily on grounds of political and of historical importance but records of particular personal or contemporary interest are also included. The document headings include correspondence with the rulers of Kuwait, the Al-Sabah date gardens, commercial affairs, oil development, judicial educational affairs, and arms and arms smuggling.
