Peter and Madeleine embark on an incredible mission to find or kill Doctor Claude A Durand. Can they accomplish what seems to be an impossible operation, will they both survive? It starts at the French/Belgian border. They are stopped by the local German border guards, detection is imminent. Their mission is clear but seemingly impossible, discovery is probable, success is unlikely, death is sure to follow. Along the way they are attacked by the German army, the RAF, and the French resistance. They are betrayed by a local businessman and pursued relentlessly by the SS. All hope seems lost, but if the Simurgh project falls into the hands of the enemy, the war and possibly civilisation itself will be lost. Failure is not an option, at any cost!
