Way of the Walker

Ree is born with her eyes open to the Everpresent - a heightened awareness where Phi Hunters pull their magic and can speak to spirits and ghosts. The natural ability is powerful but also hindering, as it makes it hard for her to fit in with normal society. When she is ostracized at school for being too strange, she finds refuge and acceptance in the Phi Hunters guild. But she becomes disenchanted with the simplistic way they view phi and is further frustrated with the community's deference to a foreign power that threatens to conquer Suyoram. Her path will lead her to abandon her home in search of purpose, but what she finds is greater than she could have ever expected. She will become a champion of spirits and demons alike, a folk hero to the oppressed people of Loram, and the number one enemy to the King of Suyoram... as well as the entire region's only hope to remain free...
