Professor Sankarankutty graduated in Medicine from Madras, and started work as a Railway doctor. He then went to Buffalo, USA to pursue Resident training, and later to England to train as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Once he retired more than 20 years ago, he reflected upon the very varied life he had led in many countries of the world and decided to write his memoir. It took him almost 10 years to write his life stories, from his childhood till the end of the memoir writing period.

This memoir depicts his life during British Raj to his journey throughout his adult life in India, USA, England, Saudi Arabia and UAE. It shows the close-knit extended family life during his childhood in South India to his early professional life as a Railway doctor, and his achievement to become a fully trained Orthopaedic surgeon in England. He faced serious discrimination in getting a permanent senior position in British NHS which led to him to move to Saudi Arabia and UAE. This book contains stories about courageous patients who face danger to life and limb, but achieved healing.
