This beautiful calendar showcases 12 designs from The Tudor Pattern Book, a picture book of trees and plants, animals and alphabets painted on parchment. The designs might have served as models for craftwork, especially needlework, within a great Tudor household. This manuscript has belonged to Oxford University for over three centuries, first at the Ashmolean Museum after donation by Elias Ashmole (1617-92) and later at the Bodleian Library.
