What if the Nazis had had access to magic, aliens, and werewolves in World War II? How would the Allies have responded in a world where magic is real but a secret?
A Hidden War is a history book about events that may have happened. It is a secret war waged between the occult forces of the Axis and Allied powers. In a world where magic is real, how would the Allies have responded to such a threat? It is a war fought in the shadows, of secret organizations. The boundaries of science are pushed to the extremes and humanity's talent for destruction threatens even the existence of magical beings. There is a diplomatic battle for alliances with the magical fae; werewolves hunt down enemy covens; mythical creatures are awoken from their slumber within deep mountains and the ocean depths. As the Nazis invade Denmark British agents and SS operatives fight for Thor's hammer. On the North American Plains mystics try to bind the ancient Thunderbird to their will, while on the moors of Southern England spectral hounds are summoned. But are they agents of Satan? What do extra-terrestrial visitors want in exchange for technology and what bargains will be made with entities from other dimensions in an effort to ensure victory? This is against the backdrop of events as we know them. D-Day happens on 6th June 1944, although the storm that strikes weeks later is not natural but the result of Luftwaffe elemental magic. History continues as we know it through deception and distraction. The narrative ends with the start of a Cold War and glimpses of what is to come.
This is a book that will appeal to fans of the occult, the supernatural, fantasy, horror, and science fiction. It is also written in such a way that it will be of interest those with a sense of fun who enjoy military history.
