Reviews of first edition from Amazon readers:

Captain Thomas Sladdin was devoted to Queen Elizabeth, willing to put his life at risk for his Queen & country. He could skilfully navigate the sea, but he was somewhat less experienced when it came to politics, dealing with Her Majesty’s Secret Service and managing foreign affairs.

Yet another great read from historical adventure author Tony Mead! This is historical fiction with an eye to accuracy and detail - the sort of book you can actually learn from whilst enjoying a good story; where fictional characters blend seamlessly with real life historical ones. David Lambert.

Fantastic read, not a book I would normally choose to read but this was exciting, accurate, a bit of romance. Book club reader.

The author paints a vivid picture of this era, and his characters come alive as they battle against the Spanish Armada and sneak through the corridors of power behind the Tudor throne. Jessica Collier

A brilliant read. Interesting characters and themes and a brilliantly executed ending. Wayne Martin

Well written, interesting, historically accurate, it also has a tender romance.

Once I started reading the book I could not put it down. Highly recommended.
