The inside of each card is left blank, to be used for any occasion, and the envelope has a pretty printed design. The card images feature 5 flower portraits by one of the finest botanical artists that ever lived, Pierre Joseph Redoute. The name of the painting is given on the back of every card and from left to right are A study of Vinca, Rosa X reversa, A study of Lathyrus odoratus, Rosa eglanteria var. punicea and A study of Primula sinensis. The common names of the flowers are primulas, old roses, sweetpeas and wild briar roses. This set of greetings cards also makes a wonderful gift to send to someone special.
