Lucy is a young woman who wants to write a great novel. For Lucy virginity is not something to be tossed away frivolously. Lucy has a close friend called Charlie.

Lucy and Charlie are going as bridesmaids to Lucy's step-brother in Kolkata. Charlie wins a prize in a travel promotional for two people for four days in Bangkok. She persuades Lucy to go with her en route to the wedding.

Charlie misses her flight. Lucy arrives in Bangkok alone and bewildered. Lucy spots a monk in the What Pho monastery who attracts her.

Charlie arrives that evening. The next day Charlie wants to have a soapy massage. Lucy is not interested. A man comes out of a cubicle with a pretty Thai girl. Lucy realises he is the monk she had seen at the monastery. The monk's name is Nat.

The girl comes up to Lucy and without asking takes Lucy by the hand and ushers her briskly into one of the rooms. The girl's name is Chimlin. Lucy has a massage. After the massage Chimlin gives Lucy a card.

As soon as Charlie leaves the hotel Lucy phones Chimlin. They meet in a cafe. Lucy decides then and there to move to another hotel.

Chimlin takes Lucy to a smart residence out of town with a pool. An elderly called Sunanda appears and there is an argument and she slaps Chimlin across the face. The woman approaches Lucy and warns her that she is in great danger and tells her to leave. Sunanda is Nat's mother.

Each day Chimlin calls on Lucy and takes her to a different location where Nat makes love to her. Chimlin orchestrates the sessions. To disguise his identity, Nat is either masked, or the room is in darkness. As Lucy gets more confident she wants to have Nat all to herself. She resents Chimlin's presence.

In her search for Lucys Charlie is helped by Beam who is a journalist friend.

The final meeting between Lucy and Nat takes place at Nat's estate. Lucy has arranged the meeting by dealing directly with Nat avoiding Chimlin. Chimlin fears the worst and contacts Sunanda. They find Lucy.

Back in England, Charlie and Lucy have dinner together. Lucy hands Charlie a casket. In it is Lucy's novel entitled, "Losing It."
