Raised in Brampton, Ontario Theo Williams is the author of the new children’s book I Love My Big Brother. He is the Husband of Tanisha and Father of three boys Kaleb, Joseph and Benjamin aged 13, 2 and 1. I Love My Big Brother is a children’s book written to highlight the black family. Considering the current climate with the lack of racial and ethnic diversity in children’s books, The story is illustrated with characters black children can identify with and relate to. We’ve all heard the statement representation matters and seeing themselves represented in books as well as in movies/television is extremely important for black children. The story follows three brothers throughout the course of the day, and displays how much two brothers love and adore their big brother. From waking up in the morning, until it is time to go to bed the brothers go through situations that the readers will not only find comical but also relatable. Through humour and amazing illustrations the readers will quickly see and feel the love these brothers share for each other.
