Emir Muawiyah and Medieval Chroniclers and Traditionalists

We have embarked on publishing this book as an anecdote to a rampant virus spreading that includes praising highly questionable figures whose life objective was to trouble the members of the Prophet Muhammad’s

family and their companions. My father studied with the late Shaykh Abul Hasan Al Nadwi and hence we are producing the work from his prestigious institution. On a personal note, I have attached to the school of the great scholars of Morocco the Ghumari masters so hence the English work of Shaykh Hassan Al Saqqaf. Recently, groups have risen up in places that are eulogizing Mu'awaiyah and are looking to even build mosques, etc. This is largely due to sheer ignorance and sectarian and dogmatic doctrines. While the position has traditionally been to remain silent as instructed by our grandfathers including the great Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani of Baghdad, we have been compelled to come out with these works in English so that this goes back to becoming a silent position not worth discussing.-Sayyid Asad Amir Dean Husayni
