Neil Bennett, almost seventeen, lives in the new suburbs of Toronto in the mid-1960s. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, and convenient to downtown. But at home, life was not so simple. Before he himself was aware of his sexuality, his father had begun to torment him. As he discovers a world beyond the confines of family and well-cared lawns, he learns about himself and what the world holds for a boy like him.
