In 2015, every UN Member State, representing all humans, adopted 17 Goals to guide the world. These were the Sustainable Development Goals, or the Global Goals. These 17 Goals aim for:

the end of poverty and hunger health and education for all gender equality clean water, sanitation, and energy for all climate action peace & justice protection of life on land and sea economic growth shared by all.

This 2030 Agenda is ambitious, but realistic, given existing solutions and wealth. To make it feel achievable, beneath the 17 Goals are 169 targets. Below these, are 231 indicators to measure progress. Targets of the Global Goals profiles each of these respective 169 Targets. If we're to achieve the needed transformations of the Global Goals, we need to understand them.
