Golden Age II

The Great Explosion

It's the start of Term Two, in the year Thirty Four Ninety Five on the Planet, Xi Bootis A Secundus, otherwise known as Homwol, Vale or Tarlakan, depending on which native species you ask. Twenty-Two light years from Sol and only recently colonised, within the previous quarter of a century.

Five young school girls, as part of their Year Ten History class, are given their group term history assignment, The Great Explosion. The period of human colonisation in between the years Twenty Sixty and Twenty One Eighty.

The five girls, a pair of twins, Humans from the Earth, another Human, a non-verbal telepath from Mars and a Mimasian Thol, an angelic-like winged humanoid who was born inside of Mimas, a Moon of Saturn that turned out to be a hollowed-out generation ship. The fifth of the five girlfriends is a Carlin, a bipedal feline humanoid native species of Vale. The Mimasian Thols originated on Homwol millions of years prior and their genetic cousins, the Indigenous Thols, live there to this day.

As the five teenagers study the historical aspects of the Great Explosion, they undergo their own personal growth, development, trials and tribulations. The past is not what they thought and neither is the world around them.

How will the five young girls navigate their trials, tribulations and complex inter-species relationships?

Much of this story is set more than two centuries before the Forkbraid trilogy. A series of stories set in the near future at a stage of humanity's evolution, where we humans are colonising our solar system at an explosive pace. The Unexpected Conflict is over and behind them.

All terraforming and colonial expansion is being organised from the asteroid Eros in conjunction with the efforts of a powerful business corporation, Dumas Incorporated. The world within a rock. Eros was carefully positioned in the Earth-Sun Lagrangian point five, sixty degrees behind the Earth in its orbit.

Hollowed out, heavily modified and set rotating to create an entire world within it. Humanity is now united like never before and the Golden Age of Humanity continues, as humanity rapidly and explosively expands into the solar system.

Where will this great explosion of humanity's colonial expansion take us?
