This is a brilliantly funny play called The Rivals, originally written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan in 1775. I have transcribed the script into more understandable English without losing the overall feel of the play. It is still set in the original time for example.
The aim is to make this play much easier to learn for actors, and also much easier to understand for the audience.
However I have made a couple of changes to the story. The biggest change is the addition of a duel at the end because I just felt like it needed one and the character I chose to get shot annoyed me!
