'It's not personal, Tom. It isn't right for someone my age to drink that much milk. This isn't right for me anymore, I'm sorry guys.' - Milk Bottle Challenge by Ruby Blinkhorn
After school, three boys clash over whether they've outgrown their lactose-fuelled childhood tradition. The captain of The Crushers Under 17s women's soccer team struggles valiantly to rally her rag-tag team-mates over a container of orange slices. At a bus stop, a private school girl and an apprentice fork-lift driver form an unlikely connection. When Tess chooses to hole up in her room instead of celebrate at El Jannah, her friends decide it's time to stage a surprise birthday exorcism. And as two sisters argue over Mum's plates that look like bowls (but are flat enough to be plates), they start to feel out a tentative path through their loss.
Each year Australian Theatre for Young People brings together 20 emerging playwrights from around Australia, empowering them to create plays that connect with young performers and audiences. The Intersection Festival is the creative reimagining of our popular Voices Project and Intersection plays, giving young people the opportunity to perform brand-new short plays written by some of the country's best new writers.
