The Girl Who Lost Her Grandad is a short story about a young girl whose grandfather, whom she adores, passes away due to old age. The girl is left heartbroken and is soon so consumed with grief that it threatens to affect the rest of her life if not dealt with in a constructive way.
The reader gets a chance to help the main character to cope with her emotional hardship by choosing between three possible actions which may or may not work out well for her in the long run. The structure of the story is designed to give the reader the responsibility to determine the right course of action for the main character, which, in turn, provides valuable life lessons about facing one’s problems in life with self-awareness, courage, and determination. It is intended to inspire the reader to take control of his or her destiny by facing their own emotional hardships effectively, and by putting in the hard work necessary to help them to grow into resilient and stable individuals.
The book is intended predominantly for children between the ages of 6 and 10; however, we believe it can be enjoyed by young people of all ages including younger children. We, at SharpKid, hope that you will find value in this book, as it is our mission to help kids benefit from our stories in the long term by one day becoming wise, independent, and courageous adults.
