Aether

Aether - The Fleur de Vie All Sam wanted to do was go on an adventure and journey across the Southern Island. But fate has other plans.

Full of expectation he leaves his home city Melsey, but quickly finds storm clouds gathering. He is to play a leading role in defeating the dark destructive forces of the Nether and its marauding minions called Nethmites, which consume all that stands in their way.

With newly found friends: Frank the sky-pirate, complete with wooden pegleg; Malory the tree-dweller; and the impulsive ranger, Addie, Sam is drawn ever deeper into a dark and unforgiving battle, directed by two mythological dragon-like creatures to locate the magical Fleur de Vie. Sam and his friends are in a race against time to search the length and breadth of the Southern Island to locate the flower before the Nether destroys all that is beautiful.

Will Sam discover in time that it takes more than magic to overcome the dark forces threatening them - that to succeed he must find that special part buried deep inside him, the spark that makes him the person he is?

There are also talking animals, a mysterious Shaman named Sable, and the fifth element - more powerful than the earth, the air, fire and water - called the Aether.

The Fleur de Vie provides the confluent to channel the Aether, the power of light; that can overcome the Nether and its Nethmites hirdes and restore the life they have destroyed.

The question Sam must discover the answer to is: how much can fate orchestrate the autonomous actions of one person; by the discovery of an inner strength that will allow him stand against the Nether and defeat it, once and for all?
