In Time to Wake Up My Love, we learn that everyone makes mistakes. Elisha Rose is a survivor. As far back as she can remember, she has endured hardship and witnessed violence. The oldest of three children, she learns at an early age how to navigate her parents' rocky relationship and her father's fiery temper-a temper she soon learns she has inherited. Limited by a learning disability, Elisha nevertheless perseveres and makes a life for herself after high school, eventually marrying and starting a family, but it all leaves her unfulfilled. After bravely breaking free, she must learn to navigate life on her own.
In this deeply personal prequel to her award-winning memoir, I Am Worthy, Elisha's story continues but from the beginning. Honestly and with tremendous vulnerability, she recounts her struggles with her own addictions and anger. To get her through, Elisha relies on three things-her family, her friends, and her faith-to help her find her way.
Do not speak unless it improves silence.
