'WARNING' Please be aware, that this book has Course Language, Sexual References, and descriptions of Autopsies and Murder Scenes. Ian Farrer, a former drunken New York Detective, who still has not completely rid himself of the evil drink, suddenly discovers that a nemesis from the past has caught up with him. He has moved on to a small country town and become the Sheriff of this closely knit community. As the story envelopes the characters within the town, it comes with murders, drugs, and human trafficking for prostitution and there are a series of other murders, that seem to be all connected in one way or another, but Farrer has trouble putting the full story together. There are also secrets within secrets which cause him to ponder are all the happenings connected or are they separate entities? He comes to believe, that the perpetrators of the crimes are high ranking officials and some very elite rich who basically own and run the town. Can he prove his beliefs or is he just hoping that this is what will be the outcome? At one stage he even suspects his own superiors could be involved as they try to block his efforts to solve the murders as bodies just keep appearing and there is a twist to the markings on the murdered corpses, involving a child's game, and Dante's Inferno of Hell and the 9 Levels to Purgatory, and this is just the beginning. Through the fog of his pickled brain, he starts to realise that the connections he needs to solve the case, all hinge back to an errant shooting and robbery gone wrong many years ago in his past. Now he has brought his past and demons to the town of Oemen Lake and with it, grief, and despair for all. Can he fulfil his duty and bring justice to the case as well as rid himself of his demons and those who terrorise this small town which is now filled with Mayhem, Murder, and Revenge?
