A Lab’s Ears Are Made of SILK

Every night when Finn the black Labrador retriever goes to bed, the Boy whispers to him, "A Lab's ears are made of SILK." Until one night he doesn't. What could be wrong? Finn is distraught. Trying to impress, he retrieves the Boy's shoes, inadvertently chewing them into pieces, making the Boy's parents extremely unhappy. The Boy, meanwhile, seems more interested in talking to a girl than petting poor Finn. So the Lab runs away, intent on finding out if what the Boy used to whisper to him is true. During his Great Journey, he encounters a self-righteous guinea pig, a belligerent turtle, some pirate mice, and his best friend Sawyer, the creamy Lab. Finn must be careful though: his archenemy Alley Cat and his gang of stray felines, the Realists, watch his every move. However, Alley Cat may have the answers Finn is looking for, but how could a dog ever trust a cat?

Surrounded by friends and enemies, Finn searches for the truth: are his ears really made of SILK, and if so, does that give him worth?
