Charles Owen has updated his 2020 "Wampus Cat Football History Book." The 2025 version includes a significant expansion of season and individual records. In the new edition of this unique book, Wampus Cat fans and football historians can find the score from nearly every game ever played by the football team from Leesville High School Some scores are available as far back as 1910, but nearly all scores and team records from 1929 forward are included in the book. Also included in the 2023 update is a focus on defensive stats and defensive stars. Defensive heroes like Corey Lucas, Greg Rone, Steve Gunn, Sed Clemmons and Sam Hoecker are highlighted for their accomplishments. The book covers all the seasons played by the Wampus Cats up through the 2022 Quarterfinal season and recent stars such as Caleb Ganaway, Xavier Ford and Matt Pajinag are highlighted for their excellence. The book includes a special section on the "Old Timers Game" from the 70s and provides results from the "Hooper Trophy" rivalry with DeRidder. Features from the previous edition are maintained and beefed up, including new and expanded statistics for passing, rushing and receiving.
This book is a must-have for LHS football fans and will be of great interest to sports historians.
