In a picturesque land of ancient legend and modern superstition, steeping in secrets, two feuding towns in rural Ireland pull together to find their missing children. A sinister mood weighs on the residents as they struggle through conflict, lawlessness and terror, until finally they work through their fear and along the way discover new personal strengths while unifying with their community. His own dark secret on the edge of exposure, Sergeant Michael Kelly’s urgency in finding the children intensifies as he learns that his beloved niece has now vanished. Incompetent profilers are sent in to decipher a pattern to the disappearances but they only muck up the investigation wasting precious time while a storm brews and tempers erupt. A daring man but with a wounded soul, Michael is the glue that holds the towns together. The Maru Mountains divide the two towns, one seaside, and the other inland. A cataclysmic storm is predicted that will decimate the seaside village, therefore the decision was made to merge the endangered village into the more stable one inland to wait out the storm. Believing in the Legend, the residents think that after the storm wipes everything out, all will become new again, fresh, all sins forgiven, so they indulge in their bad behavior expecting not to receive consequences, even though children may perish. Cataleigh Sylvester, a woman who is as clever as she is dazzling, is sent from the upper regions to help the people assimilate. Denying their attraction for one another, Michael links up with Cataleigh and off they race to save the children.
