Annika and Martin are on another adventure with Albrecht, the Little Kobold, and the Green Witch!

Annika and Martin are excited to be going to their grandparents' house for Christmas, where they are hoping to see their new friends, Albrecht, the Little Kobold, and his family, The Green Witch, and Mitzy and Blitzy, the two squirrels that carried them to safety from the angry wild Mama Boar earlier in the year.

But a blizzard threatens their plans. It's too dangerous to enter the woods. They may lose their way out again. One afternoon they notice small footprints and snowshoes by their playhouse in the backyard. They bravely enter to find not only are the Kobolds there, but Mitzy and Blitzy and their young son, who has been injured.

This is a warm-hearted story about friendship, helping others, and the joy of sharing Christmas with friends and family. There is also some magic along the way from a mysterious stranger called the Animal Whisperer.

This delightful tale, set in a mountain forest in south-eastern Germany, is a modern fantasy reminiscent of classic fairy tales. This is the third book featuring Annika's and Martin's adventures, which began with The Little German Gnome.
