Grace refuses to be broken by the lifelong punishment, however, and even though little can be gleaned about the planet’s environment beyond the prison walls she plots to break out from the secure facility and return to her war-torn home. If the desert warrior and her unlikely companions manage to escape into the verdant darkness, can they survive unscathed and unchanged, or will they find they’ve been altered in unimaginable ways?
