Macy’s chasing her dream; Talan is sacrificing his.
After totaling a client’s classic Camaro, and the reputation she’s worked to build, Macy LaPorte will do anything for the chance to photograph cars again. Even take a job she knows nothing about, thousands of miles from home.
From the first day it’s a disaster. Jeans and concert t-shirts, which make up her entire wardrobe, are too informal for the business atmosphere of Dawson’s Auctions. Her boss doesn’t trust her to drive the cars she’s going to photograph. She has nothing in common with the other women at the office, no friends to turn to. Then there’s the boss’s son, Talan Dawson.
Macy and Talan are often forced into working together, an arrangement that Macy is finding very uncomfortable. The first time they met was electric. Since then, though, she never knows if he’s going to bring her coffee just the way she likes it, or snap at her for asking him to move the car they’re photographing.
When Macy learns of Talan’s past, that he chose working with his brother over a career in music, she sees him in a new light. And she’ll have to decide if it’s worth sacrificing her dream to help him chase his.
