Special emphasis is directed toward Young Women and Disadvantaged young adults–who will have to travel a more difficult path to achieve their American Dream. Both the author and his wife, Angel were disadvantaged and had little hope of professional success upon graduating high school–but they were both determined to Take Control of Their Lives and succeed in this very competitive world. Both traveled different paths, while earning the education that provided the special skills they needed to become successful in their lives. Both climbed from the bottom to the top of their domestic and international professions. If this small-town farm boy and small-town girl, could rise from their humble beginnings to achieve the American Dream, then so too can nearly every young adult who has experienced an abusive or disadvantaged childhood–regardless of how poorly they have performed with their high school education.
