Even so, she enjoys her life as a Pet, learning to become what he desires. While life proceeds smoothly as she and Mr. X learn of one another, a complication soon arises. Something Emily had not expected was finding love so unexpectedly. Yet, Emily can't be certain of her feelings, can she love another woman? Is it love? Does this mean she is a lesbian, or is it another facet of being a Pet? How can she tell? The more she learns of being a Pet, the more she learns of Love.
