Bernard the Bogeyman sounds deliciously frightening but also kind of sad in his lonely stance. The reader can't help feeling for him, nursing his wounds in his run-down shed. Once again, Nick Baker and Sadie Giraud give us a fun, skilfully rhymed, beautifully illustrated story-poem that will please both children and adults.
