This collection arose largely from a week on the Pembrokeshire coast of St Bride's Bay, entering its Celtic past as the Celtic Saints made landfall and spread their fiery faith across Wales. An older, pagan past often stands alongside the sites and chapels of the early pioneers of the Christian faith. Each poem is inspired by the places visited and persons associated with this peaceful Celtic invasion. The legacy of the Celtic Saints is a burning torch waiting to be carried again, but how to realise this vision in everyday life today? This question also begins to be addressed. Additionally, three oil paintings of exceptional quality which came home with us also inspired reflections on the landscape and history of Pembrokeshire's coast, and some memories of childhood family holidays are included.
