The Shackleton Expedition of 1921-22 was Sir Ernest Shackleton's last Antarctic voyage, and the final episode in the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. His exploit is sometimes referred to as the "Quest Expedition" named after its ship, the Quest, a converted Norwegian seal-hunter. Shackleton died on board the ship, at the Antarctic island of South Georgia. This voyage follows his earlier expeditions, the Robert Falcon Scott's "Discovery Expedition" of 1901-1904, the "Nimrod Expedition" of 1907-1909 and the "Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition" of 1914-1917. Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton was a sailor, explorer, adventurer, commander, and a legend in exploring the South Pole region.
