Almost immediately after the news cast his phone displayed a simple message, "call". This was normal prior to every assignment.
This call is longer than previous ones and he learns of the demise of a couple he saved from pirates off the coast of Africa. The information gives him the idea of how to rescue his kidnapped team members.
He becomes Matthew xxx and enters Kenya surreptitiously as the person delivering the ransom that is demanded for the release of the kidnapped hostages.
He disrupts the exchange proceedings and with the kidnapped camera crew he navigates through Kenya as he weaves his way to the coast and his subsequent escape.
He doubles back and eliminates that two army generals that plotted the kidnapping and who relentlessly and ruthlessly pursued the team during the escape.
He returns to the yacht that his deceased friends bequeathed to him and sails away from Kenya only to be chased by pirates. Pirates that were not expecting to face a well-prepared defense to their attack.
The pirates soundly defeated and the yacht sails away victorious.
The film crew is dropped off in Tanzania and Ian once again returns to the love of his life.
