The moon was still bright in the sky, while the sun was just beginning to threaten the eastern horizon. The early morning breeze cool his face. Bram opened a napkin and put out a small piece of oatmeal raisin cookie for Einstein, his pet field mouse. The field below was an image of area 51 from a movie he had watched at one time. He knew he in essence was a prisoner of the US government being protected in an a location they refused to let him know.

He had figured out how to fold time and space and was able to transport objects through the folds.

This capability had made him a target for multiple organizations. He was told that the US government had stepped in ahead of their competition and saved him.

He was patriotic and was OK to be working for the government but he was not OK with losing his freedom. He also wanted his breakthrough to be shared across the world. The model he had in his mind was to handle it in the similar manner as the Antarctic or the Space Station.

He uses his intelligence to figure out his location, to make new arrangements to how his breakthrough is to be handled. He relocates is effort to the state of Washington and Oregon.

The he establishes an entire community that is solely focused on building human sized Fold transport systems.

He is successful.

However the threats to his life and those around him endanger the project.

His attackers successfully trap his vacationing team in a mountain cave and commence to machine gun them.

He and his Marine supporters kill several of his attackers and win the day.

Bram realizes that he is putting all his Fold crew members into a life threatening situation when one of his Fold scouts comes back with a chunk of asteroid merged in the scout.

He engages a young girl that is autistic, brilliant but wheelchair bound. He knows that she will help him determine how an object travels through the fold. He needs to ensure that all Folds are safe and move to a debris free environment.

The first Fold with a human crew has Bram holding the hand of his young wheel bound genius.
