Welcome to the wonderful and exhilarating world of Vietnam! This book is a celebration of the delightful cultures and rich tapestries of life throughout the country, as seen through the eyes and experiences of an acclaimed travel photographer and Vietnam War veteran. Author John Powers begins with a glimpse up north, sharing images from the Lao Cai region, Hanoi, and then on to Ha Long Bay, where numerous ethnic backgrounds converge and there are still pockets that western cultural influences have barely touched. Moving to the central and southern regions of Vietnam, he provides delightful and moving glimpses into the lifestyles and people of Vietnam’s more industrialised and westernised regions. Throughout the engaging images and text, you’ll be treated to a tantalising glimpse into this often misunderstood part of the world. AUTHOR: John Powers is a travel photographer. Traveling is in his blood. As a U.S. Army veteran, he spent 38 years in the military, traveling (and living) in many places around the world. He is a Vietnam veteran and has lived overseas in various countries to include Italy (four years), Germany (three years), Kuwait (one year), and Japan (sixteen years). Since retiring six years ago, John was been traveling and photographing primarily throughout southeast Asia, focusing on Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines, using Japan as his home base. He has been an active member of both the Professional Photographers of Hawaii (PPH) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) for the past ten years. John is currently finalizing his completion of the Master of Photography degree from the PPA. SELLING POINTS:
