OSV Kids: Eucharist

This OSV Kids activity booklet teaches children about the Eucharist -- the source and summit of our Catholic Faith. The Eucharist is Jesus Christ: his Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

Every time Mass is celebrated, the bread and wine on the altar are consecrated and become the real presence of Jesus. This is also known as the Eucharist! When we receive the holy Eucharist, the most Blessed Sacrament, we receive Jesus himself.

From the Greek word meaning "thanksgiving," the Eucharist is a time for all Catholics to say thank you to God the Father for sending us his son, Jesus. We say thank you also because Jesus feeds us with his very own Body and Blood. The miracle of Jesus' presence with us at every Mass shows us how much Jesus loves us and how much he wants us to love him, too.
