Try, Ari, Try! is all about perseverance. It is a simple tale about an ant trying to move a crumb.

When Ari the Ant sees the crumb, he decides to take it home to his family. But the crumb proves far more difficult to move than he first thought. Ari tries different ways to move it, and fails each time.

He becomes frustrated. Just when Ari is thinking about quitting, he gets a brilliant idea of how to move the crumb. He is finally successful and takes it home.

The moral of the story? If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!

Tracia J. Agard is a counsellor and educator in Barbados. She recently started her own company, STEP UP Academie, which offers counselling and personal/academic/career success services to young professionals and students of all ages, locally and internationally online. I was inspired to write this book while coordinating a motivational program for primary schools. During that time, I discovered that storytelling was an effective way of communicating values to students. So, I created this tale as an exciting way to teach children perseverance. This is her second book.
