Stanley Lane-Poole (1854-1931) was a distinguished British orientalist, historian, and archaeologist, known for his extensive writings on Islamic history and culture. A nephew of the eminent Egyptologist Edward William Lane, Lane-Poole worked for many years at the British Museum and later held academic positions at Trinity College Dublin.
