I was born during the Jim Crow era, I have discovered recently; that I lived a life of privilege. This is what many have told me. This does not mean that I was not affected by segregation. Yes, everything was separated and not equal. I grew up in a home, where we all were comfortable. During my adult life, I lived in the north, in small towns or in the suburbs. I am a city girl. The city by the sea, Charleston, South Carolina. After graduation from high school, I attended Saint Augustine's college in Raleigh North Carolina. I married my late, college sweetheart. We have three children from this union. They all have graduated from college and are leading productive lives. They have awarded us with six grandchildren and eight greatgrands. However, after many years of marriage my late ex-and I divorced. I am the secret that no one talks about. Did my father have a secret also? Did I find love the second time around?
