Joining the Army was supposed to be a chance at a better future for Jason Edward Terry. He had lost his mother when he was a child, and in his senior year of high school, his father died. Facing graduation with no family and no place to live, the Army would give him a chance. But the decision to join the Army in the midst of World War II would change his life in ways he could not imagine. While serving in Italy, he finds himself in a cave, severely wounded, and with a young girl. He has no idea who she is or how they got there.
